Sound Healing

The Language of Vibration

This one goes back a long way for me. As a child I'd spend hours with my parents' record player, listening back over songs just to see if I could pick out each instrument on its own — the bassline, the strings underneath, whatever was hiding in the background. I've always loved sound and music, in the same way I love languages — I'm fluent in Spanish too, and there's a pattern-listening in both that I think I was just born with. That same instinct shows up in my love of poetry and linguistics — pulling a line apart to find what's really being said underneath the words, the rhythm and the silence doing as much work as the language itself. Sound exploration feels like a natural extension of that: listening past the surface, to whatever's actually being communicated. Looking back, it's hard not to see it as a calling that took a while to find its proper shape.

Sound has been used as a healing tool for thousands of years — from Tibetan singing bowls to shamanic drumming traditions across cultures. Working with instruments and vibration this way is sometimes described as a form of energy medicine: it doesn't rely on words, but on resonance moving through the body, guiding the mind and nervous system out of a stressed, alert state and into something slower and more restful.

I've completed my Level 1 certification with the Sound Healing Academy of Ireland, which qualifies me to weave sound into my existing mindfulness coaching and retreats. I'm currently working towards my Level 2, after which I'll be offering dedicated one-to-one sound healing sessions — I'll share here as soon as those open up.

Deep, Cellular-Level Rest

Sound vibration moves through the body almost like a gentle massage at a tissue level, helping shift you out of fight-or-flight and into true rest.

Nervous System Regulation

Slow, resonant sound can support the body's own capacity to calm itself — easing stress and helping regulate heart rate and blood pressure.

Easier Access to Stillness

For anyone who finds silent meditation difficult, sound gives the mind something gentle to rest on and follow.

Emotional & Energetic Release

Sound can help surface and gently release tension that's been sitting in the body, supporting emotional as well as physical wellbeing.

Improved Sleep

Many people notice deeper, easier sleep in the days following a sound session, as the nervous system settles.

Mind, Body & Spirit Balance

Sound works on more than one level at once — physical, mental and emotional — leaving you feeling balanced and refreshed, not just relaxed.
