The 8-Week Course

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

MBSR is the original, most researched mindfulness programme in the world — developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979, and now taught and studied globally. It isn't a relaxation class or a set of tips. It's a structured, evidence-based course that trains attention and awareness over time, so that steadiness becomes something you carry with you, not something you visit once a week.

This course is for anyone — but it was built with exactly the kind of full, demanding life most of us are actually living in mind: the pressure of working life that doesn't let up, the particular exhaustion of parenthood, or the responsibility of leading a team who are stretched thin. Whether you're joining as an individual, part of a small group, or booking mindfulness in the workplace for your organisation, the structure is the same — and it works.

8 weekly sessions, approx. 2–2.5 hours each
One extended practice day, usually around week 6
Daily home practice, approx. 30–45 minutes
Small group setting — individual and corporate bookings available
What the course covers

Building a practice, week by week

Body scan & breath awareness — learning to notice physical sensation and tension without needing to fix or change it straight away.

Sitting and walking meditation — building the capacity to stay present through both stillness and movement.

Gentle mindful movement — simple, accessible stretching and body awareness; no fitness level or experience required.

Group inquiry & discussion — space to talk through what's coming up in practice, and how it applies to daily stress, work, and relationships.

Who it's for

Individuals, groups & workplaces

MBSR was originally developed in a hospital setting for people managing chronic pain and stress, and the research base has only grown since. It's now used widely for stress, anxiety, burnout, sleep difficulty, and simply the accumulated pressure of modern life.

Personal

Individuals

Join an open group course — no previous meditation experience necessary, just a willingness to show up for eight weeks.

Organisational

Groups & Workplaces

Corporate and group bookings are welcome — bringing real, practical mindfulness training into teams and workplaces, not a one-off wellness tick-box session.
